Clean House
Everyday I get irritated that our house is never clean. There is always something that needs to be done and some days are waaaaaaay worse than others...for instance...today is a major MESSY house day. Not only did we get home from camping just 2 days ago but I have been busy finishing homework for my 2 online classes and taking B to swim lessons (yes i know that i only takes about 1 1/2 hours of my day up but still). Today all I have done is fold 1/2 a load of laundry while another 2 1/2 loads sits awaiting. I should clean my bathroom, sweep/mop the entry and at least sweep the kitchen (when I washed the rugs yesterday one of them shed it's plastic backing all over...and it still sits :( ) I do need to run the vacuum too...oh and unload the dishwasher and put away the dry dishes that adorn the counter from hand-washing last night. As I look around my living room I wonder...if I didn't have 2 kids would the house be clean? If you count all of the things I listed above the answer would be no because those don't involve kids...but they do if I take into account the time spent away from housework to be with my kiddos. Sitting on the floor next to Blakely while she plays on her play mat, I see all sorts of things...a package of wipes, 2 burp rags, 1 blanket, a baby doll, a stuffed cat, 2 unmatching plastic dress up shoes a purple lipstick purse, a roll of masking tape, 1 pink garden glove, a mistmatch of kindling (in which Brynn has turned into building blocks), a sippy cup, a neon pink heart purse, 1 pair of pink shoes, 1 wind-up stuffed duck, an open box of plastic dr. supplies, a pink bowl that once held cinnamon toast crunch sans milk, a teddy, an array of folded/unfolded laundry, 3 books, 1/2 eaten granola bar, a pacifier, 3/4 cup of coffee (made just this afternoon...it doesn't still sit there from this morning), a vacuum that is yearning to be used today (at least it is out right?!, that should count for something)...oh and a baby on a playmat and a 3 year old that keeps asking me "can you move pretty please, so I can get by." (Baby and I are blocking her path to the slider to go outside)...I can see all this from sitting in one spot in the living room...wow, I better stop this blogging and get to work! :)
