September 26th

I don't know why I can't keep up on this blogging thing...well I do know why...TIME!! I enjoy reading other peoples inspiring posts and wish I had as much insight and love to pour into my blog. Maybe with time I will become a more expressive writer, but as for now, I write about what is going on. Brynn is growing like a week and I love her more and more every single day. She has 4 molars now (we call them her big girl teeth) and she loves to open her mouth and show us. She runs EVERYWHERE she goes and adds in sound effects as she goes. She is going through a rough stage with pushing, occasionally hitting and biting. She knows what is right and wrong, yet when we tell her no she will look at us with a sheepish grin and do whatever it is we have asked her not to do. She is just too smart. She knows if she tells us "pee pee" we will take off her diaper for her to sit on the potty chair...she does this so she can have her diaper off and run around naked...SHE LOVES TO DO THIS. We have worked just a teeny bit on potty training. I need to get on board with it, because if it was up to her, I think she would be potty trained by now. Here are a few updated pics of our little beauty!!

Just us

Yet again it has been a bit since I wrote. If you are not aware, I have actually started a 2nd blog...Katy's 101 in 1001 Journey, so some of the stuff I have been up to is written about there. I just wanted to share a little bit about what we have been doing...NOTHING :) I have caught a Lazy bug this past couple of weeks and have enjoyed not having a schedule and not having to do anything if I don't want to. I am slowly trying to get back into shape...Jer, Brynn and I went running last night and this morning for a total of 50 minutes combined...I am slowly making progress. Last week I went by myself and barely made it 16 minutes. Last night we went for 20 (in the heat) this morning we went for 30...tomorrow we may go 40...WHO KNOWS! All I know is I was complaining before we started and the first few minutes into the run...I am not much of a runner! :)
Anyways, here are a few pics of late...

A week or so ago we were watching Bachelorette or America's Got Talent and a KFC commercial came on and I began to crave a KFC meal! I know how HORRIBLE those are for you so I decided to make our own...BBQ Chicken, Biscuit, Kraft DELUXE Mac & Cheese (FYI...it's not very deluxe, I won't buy again) & homemade mashed potatoes w/ lots of gravy! It was DELICIOUS!!

We were blowing bubbles and Brynn decided she needed to wash her face & hair with the bubble mixture...

16 months and already plugged into the IPOD....

Summer!

We just got back from a fun trip at the John Day River with my mom, dad, sister and other friends. Brynn loved being outdoors and playing all day. The weather was a bit windy so it made it a little cold to do much swimming, but Brynn played in the shallow part a little bit. We caught a decent amount of Catfish and enjoyed eating it on Saturday night w/ the potluck.
This week at home we are trying to stay cool, weather has been in the 90's the past couple of days. Last night we went over to my mom and dads and had a BBQ (Joe came home from S.C.) and then enjoyed late night swimming in Janice and Dave's pool.
We are still just enjoying being home together, Jerret has been working at PRC and also been busy getting his team ready for Summer camp for XC at Clackamas Community, in fact he is there right now because he is going to design a new XC course for them.
Here are a couple recent pics.

Oh and on Tuesday, Jerret, Brynn and I went to the Zoo. It was Brynn's first time and she LOVED it!!!

It's been awhile...

WOW a lot has happened since the last time I wrote!! I am now on Summer Vacation, which means Brynn does not have to go to Daycare and I get to stay home with her! It is soo much fun playing with her all day long! She is getting quite the personality and has developed temper tantrums!!! THese are not so fun for anyone involved! :) I am working with her on potty training. She has gone a few times (mommy or daddy prompted). She even went poo-poo for me the other day! That was exciting!! We sing a little song "Pee-pee in the potty!..." and she always prompts me to sing it by moving her arm in her "dance-move" like way. She also likes to read books and have books read to her while sitting there. I took her in for her 15 month appt. the other day and she weighs almost 24 pounds and is 31 inches long. (95th percentile for heighth).

As for me, I will be moving grade levels. I asked to be moved to 3rd when I knew our 3rd grade teacher was retiring. My principal honored my request. Then just yesterday I received a phone call from him, and we have had some shifts among our building and there is a 1st grade opening and I accepted this position. I am super excited, however, the downfall is moving my stuff AGAIN! At the end of the school year, I moved it from my old room to the total opposite side of the building, and now I have to move it to the 1st grade pods, which are just 1 door away from where I was! BUMMER! But I am still VERY excited!!!

Jerret has accepted a new job as well. He left WOU and took a head cross country job as Clackamas Community College. He will work there in the afternoons and continue to work at Portland Running Company in the mornings for this year. He is excited about being able to take over his own program.

it has been FOREVER

WOW, it's been FOREVER! We have been super busy! Brynn turned 1!! That was the big event in our house over spring break! She learned to walk a day or so before her first birthday! Now, being well past 1, she cruises EVERYWHERE!!! She is developing quite the personality as well. Jerret and I continue to love her to pieces and are still amazed at the developments she is making. I am still working, and Jerret is still coaching and working too. I am taking 2 classes online...working towards my masters. I am coaching track at Gladstone High another year. Brynn still goes to daycare 3 days a week. Janice is so gracious and watches Brynn on Tuesdays because Auntie Kelly went back to work full time. Grandma Ruth still watches Brynn on Thursdays and loves every minute of it. Jerret's mom watches Brynn anytime work allows...on her days off! We are so blessed to have such wonderful, supportive friends and family in our lives. Brynn and I just got back from S. Cali to celebrate Grandpa Mark's 80th birthday. It was fun to see my aunts and uncles down there and get to spend another long weekend with grandpa. This time our big adventure (besides hosting an 80th party) was to visit Hollywood Blvd. A little creepy I do have to say...there were people dressed in all sorts of costumes just trying to make a dollar. Kelly and I took lots of pictures and enjoyed the time there. We were able to see Alan Jackson as he walked from Hard Rock Cafe to his limo after having his star dedicated (or something of the sort). Fans are crazy for celebrities!! We made it home safely after a long flight down and tiring flight back! Brynn luckily slept almost the entire way coming and going! We are looking forward to summer and what life brings to us in the coming months!!! <3

Happy New Year

WOW! It has been a long while since I have written. I am not sure where the time has gone! All I know is we have been VERY busy. I am back to work and Jerret's track season is in full swing. Brynn is almost 10 months old and keeping us very busy as well. She is into EVERYTHING!! She is pulling herself up on all furniture, walls, people...I think she will be walking before her 1st birthday! She still only has 2 teeth! She has the sweetest little grin! We <3>

9 months

Wow. It's been awhile since I have been on here! I have been very busy! Brynn is crawling and getting into EVERYTHING! Her favorite as of now is trying to eat the presents under the tree!  She doesn't bother the tree or decorations as much as those darn presents. It's going to be a little odd telling her to open them Christmas morning after telling her "no, no" for the past few weeks!  I guess she will understand when she is older!  I can't believe my baby is already 9 months old. It is crazy how time flies!  We love her more and more with each passing day!  Each day she brings a smile to my face when I go into her room and see her smiling up at me...so happy to see mommy. She is going through a bit of a mommy phase. Today when I was in the shower I could hear her crying and Jer brought her in and lifted her up so she could see over the curtain and was soo happy!  She still has just 2 teeth...on the bottom. I don't see any other trying to pop through yet. She pulls herself up onto furniture now too!  Soon it will be walking and who knows what I will do...I guess i will just be even busier. I am thankful to have 2 weeks off for Christmas break where I can spend as much time with her as I want. By the time Jerret got home from work yesterday, I was definitely ready for a "break" the constant action gets a little tiring especially when I wanted to do a bit of cleaning and present wrapping!  here are a few updated pics of our Little Ms. Brynn.  Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
